The Institute of Leadership and Management is one of the major award bodies for management and related qualifications in the UK. It has a wide range of management qualifications from Level 2 Team Leader through to Level 8 Senior Executive.
The ILM Level 3 Award in First Line Management is a concise qualification which gives an introduction to the basic skills, knowledge and understanding required by today’s first line manager.
The mandatory unit in 'Solving Problems and Making Decisions' is designed to develop practical techniques for tackling managerial problems and decisions from gathering and interpreting information through to the effective communication of outcomes.

This course is delivered over a 5 week period (one day per week), giving a total of 30 hours' training. Learners may progress from the Award in First Line Management to the Certificate or Diploma in First Line Management. Learners may also progress to another qualification at a suitable level within or outside the National Qualifications Framework, for example the ILM Level 4 Award in Management.
