The Security Industry Authority (SIA) is an independent body, set up by the Government under the terms of the Private Security Industry Act 2001.
If you work as a security guard or are responsible for security, protection or screening the suitability of people entering premises you now need an SIA license. To practise in the industry without a valid SIA License is a criminal offence and can result in punishments from fines to prison sentences.
The BIIAB Security Staff / Security Guard training course is a 3 day course and covers the following topics:

The Level 2 National Certificate for Security Guards will enable you to apply to the SIA for a license, thus increasing your employment opportunities. Your tutor will provide you with the basic knowledge required to pass the exams as well as real life practicalities of working as a security guard.
